Here at Heathen longbows it is my first priority to bring you the best quality traditional archery and hunting bows possible. Every bow built here is completely unique and 100% handcrafted. I build each and every bow as if I would be carrying it in the field myself. One of the things that makes selfbows completely unique is that it works with the natural growth of the wood used. So rest assured that every selfbow made is completely unique to itself. No two are ever exactly the same.
Bows
All of my bows are built to order. You can expect at least a 2 month lead time before shipping. I also like to supply three target arrows tuned to the bow. When your order is placed email me so we can discuss the details needed to build your bow accurately to your needs. I will absolutely need the desired draw weight, right or left hand orientation, and your draw length. As these bows are made of natural materials I will keep the target draw weight within 5 lb. If you have any questions of any kind regarding traditional bows before ordering please email me and we will discuss the details you're interested in.
Character Osage bow
These will be your bows with snakey grain and knots or possibly holes in the limbs
Osage bow
These bows will typically have a straighter grain and fewer knots in the limbs
Hickory bow
Hickory is a great bow wood and can be very versatile in design
Cedar bow
Cedar wood makes great bows when back with sinew or rawhide
